Is investing in the real estate market of Crete, Greece sustainable?
Hmm well wouldn’t this be a fantastic yes or no answer – but I’m neither clever enough to offer a definitive answer nor am I harsh enough to cut this ‘story’ so short, depriving you from my hilarious, sarcastic yet informative writing! You are welcome.
So, I guess one would begin by analyzing the term, sustainability which according to the Bruntland Report for the World Commission on Environment and Development (1992) is *coughs* “Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
Now, that has made things immensely more clear hasn’t it? Will buying a house abroad, specifically Crete, Greece lead to, not only a fantastic now,but a positive overall future for those influenced by the purchase? Well, I suppose in order to properly investigate this, we should first expand on of few elements not yet mentioned.
1. Way of life
Greece is, for those not from Greece, a new place! (wow that was incredibly tedious… but a true statement non the less) As with many new places, if not all new places, in order to fit in one must learn, change, understand, accept and adapt to new things. Perhaps a foreign language, maybe a different climate – warmer or cold, in any case one must be prepared to evacuate their comfort zone for a little while until things begin to set.
